I18n FAQ

Q1: What languages does Octavia support?

A: Octavia currently supports 47 languages, including but not limited to English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Korean, Chinese Simplified, and Arabic. We are working to add support for more languages in the future.

Q2: How does Octavia understand different languages?

A: Octavia has been designed with advanced language models that can understand, interpret, and respond in various languages. This makes Octavia a multilingual AI assistant.

Q3: How do I change the language that Octavia uses to interact with me?

A: Octavia should always respond to you in the language you use, however sometimes Octavia may misidentify the language you use if she doesn't have other clues. You can manually set the language of Octavia by adjusting the language selected in the app settings

Q4: Can I communicate with Octavia using multiple languages at the same time?

A: For best results, we recommend using one language at a time while communicating with Octavia. However, Octavia is designed to understand and interpret multiple languages, so mixing languages in a conversation should not pose a significant problem.

Q5: My language is not supported. What can I do?

A: Octavia is continually evolving, and we are working on adding support for more languages. If your language isn't currently officially supported, it's likely that attempting to use Octavia in your language will result in a degraded experience, so let us know if you want a language added by opening a ticket in Discord, and check back regularly!

Q7: How can I contribute to Octavia's internationalisation/localisation efforts?

A: We welcome contributions from our community. We will establish a github repository of Octavia Webapp translations to allow community contributions in the future.

Q8: Will Octavia support regional dialects or variations in the future?

A: Our primary focus is on supporting as many standard, widely-spoken languages as possible. As we grow, we may explore the addition of specific regional dialects or variations.
