This guide will walk you through the process of setting up MetaMask, a popular Ethereum wallet, on both PC and mobile devices.

Setting up MetaMask on PC

Follow these steps to install and set up MetaMask on your PC:

  1. Install the MetaMask browser extension:

    • Follow the prompts to add the MetaMask extension to your browser.
  3. Launch MetaMask:

    • After installation, click the MetaMask icon in your browser's toolbar.

Setting up MetaMask on Mobile

Follow these steps to install and set up MetaMask on your mobile device:

  1. Download the MetaMask app:

    • Locate the MetaMask app on your device and open it.

Importing or Creating a Wallet

After setting up MetaMask on either PC or mobile, follow these steps to import or create a wallet:

  1. Read and accept the Terms of Use:

    • Carefully read the MetaMask Terms of Use, then click or tap "Accept" to continue.
  2. Choose to import or create a wallet:

    • If you already have a wallet and want to import it, select "Import using a seed phrase" and enter your 12-word seed phrase.
    • If you're new to MetaMask and need to create a wallet, select "Create a Wallet." You'll be prompted to create a password.
  3. Securely store your seed phrase:

    • If you created a new wallet, MetaMask will generate a 12-word seed phrase for you. Write it down and store it in a secure location, as you'll need it to access your wallet on other devices or recover your wallet if necessary.
  4. Access your wallet:

    • After importing or creating a wallet, you'll be taken to the MetaMask dashboard. You can now interact with Ethereum-based applications, send and receive tokens, and manage your assets.
